Career Planning and ECAP
Coconino High School Counselors provide Education, Career, Action Plan (ECAP) lessons to all grade levels, twice a semester.
We are working with students through an online platform called Major Clarity. Major Clarity supports every student’s education goals to lead to a successful career outcome—whether through a 4-year degree or going straight into the workforce.

Occupational Outlook Handbook - This is a great resource where you can search for different careers to see if the job market is growing or shrinking in the next 5-10 years. You can find out how much different careers make, what schooling is required, what strengths match with that career.
Climbtheladder - This is a good resource to explore different career options and what they entail, along with job search resources such as example resumes, cover letters, and interview questions.
My Next Move - My Next Move is an interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options.
O*Net Online - The Occupational Information Network is a free online database that contains hundreds of occupational definitions to help students, job seekers, businesses and workforce development professionals to understand today's world of work in the United States.
Armed Forces - This website provides the opportunity to look all the different branches of the military.
Earn a Micro-Credential:
Students have the opportunity to earn micro-credentials in Major Clarity which expands their knowledge on different career options and builds their resume. We encourage students to take the next step in their career discovery and help themselves stand-out by earning subject matter micro-credentials, built in partnership with leading employers and educational institutions. Each one takes between 3-4 hours. Micro-credential options are below:
- Cybersecurity Technology
- Energy
- General Employability/ Soft Skills (highly recommend before joining the workforce!)
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Medical Services
- Nursing
- Software Programming
- Virtual Etiquette
- Agricultural Technology
